Butternut Race Club

Development

This half-day program introduces young skiers (ages 5-10) to alpine ski racing. The primary focus is on developing fundamental skiing skills which are applied to fun (non-competitive) racing drills and games. Development is a great program for kids to explore their interest in alpine ski racing.

Development Schedule

The daily schedule is consistent for the season. Keep in mind that despite variations in the weather (from pouring rain to bitter cold) the programs are never canceled, unless the mountain itself is closed. Ski Butternut disseminates the schedule via the TeamSnap app.

Within each program, there may be specific instructions given to the athletes regarding schedule changes, meeting points, or training plans. In addition, feel free to contact your child’s coach via TeamSnap with any questions. This program runs in January and February, meeting on Saturday and/or Sunday mornings.

Note: Participants in this program must be able to ski intermediate terrain and ride the lifts without assistance.
